Every unit will include 1 or more Portfolio Workshop days. These days are designed to give you the time and space to develop portfolio submissions and receive feedback. It is imperative that you craft a draft of your submission BEFORE the workshop day so that you have something with which to work on in class. |
About the Learning Portfolio
The Learning Portfolio is a primary evaluation element of Advanced Biology. Your Learning Portfolio will document your understanding of the Core Concepts of Biology through examples studied in the course. Over the course of the year, you will curate multiple portfolio submissions for each Core Concept.
Assignment:
A Google Doc has been shared with each of you for Learning Portfolio drafts. You should use this document throughout the year to craft your Portfolio submissions and get feedback.
For the first Learning Portfolio submission, everyone will explore the same Core Concept and example. Later in the course you will be expected to select Core Concepts and identify your own examples.
For this first submission we will:
- examine the Core Concept of Relationship of Structure + Function,
- use Enzymes as an example of this Core Concept, and
- use the Enzyme AD as the Artifact of Learning.
Using the shared google doc, draft a Portfolio entry Relationship of Structure and Function using Enzymes as your example. The Infographic below provides some guidance on how to construct a portfolio entry.
